Welcome to North Muasdale Farm Retreats. We have self-catering accommodation on our family farm, comprising two unique shepherds huts and a larger wooden cabin. All our accommodations have private wood-burning hot tubs and are dog-friendly. Set on the hill behind the village of Muasdale in Kintyre, we have the most spectacular unspoiled sea views to the islands of Islay, Jura, Cara and Gigha, with views stretching as far as the Island of Mull and Ireland.
Accommodations
All our accommodations are on a working farm; we do take into consideration what we are doing on a daily basis so we can minimise noise and disturbance.

Reviews
“The location was beautiful and the views were amazing even on a rainy day, on a nice day it’s the perfect place to watch the sunset soaking in the hot tub. Catherine the host was incredible and so helpful and made sure the hot tub was up and running for us because we are clueless when it comes to wood burning stoves! The lodge was clean and comfortable and had everything we needed for our short stay. Can’t wait to return for another stay!”

“The most wonderful of locations , a very comfortable and well furnished cabin with views over sheep fields, the coast and distant islands . Idyllic to sit in the hot tub looking out to sea. Catherine was incredibly helpful, offering help to warm up the hot tub, free fresh eggs , detergent for washing and even offering to post back a cable we had left behind . Highly recommended” .

How to get here
If you're coming from Glasgow, it's a scenic two and a half-hour drive, while Edinburgh is about three-and-a-half hours away by car. Additionally, Campbeltown Airport provides a quick 30-minute flight from Glasgow, making it an ideal destination for a weekend getaway. Car hire is available in Campbeltown.
For our neighbours in Northern Ireland, a small express passenger ferry provides easy access. From the north, we are just over an hour and a half away from Oban or Inveraray and 45 minutes from Lochgilphead. Conveniently, there's a regular bus service from Oban and Glasgow with a stop in Muasdale village.
Located on the main artery of the Kintyre peninsula, North Muasdale Farm is situated along the A83 in the village of Muasdale. Travelling along Muasdale village with the houses on your left, before you leave the 40mph speed limit there is a wide tarred road end, turn left and follow the farm track. We are the first farm on the left.
The A83 offers breathtaking scenery, winding through the splendour of Loch Lomond, over the 'Rest and Be Thankful' and alongside picturesque lochs before reaching the Atlantic Ocean as it skirts down the Kintyre peninsula. Whether you're travelling by motorbike or car, it's a route that promises an unforgettable journey.
Kintyre has a distinct island vibe despite being part of the mainland, making it a destination worth exploring. If you're embarking on an island-hopping adventure in Scotland, we are 20 minutes from the ferry terminal to Islay and 5 minutes from the ferry to Gigha.
